#4227 Tasting from 30.08.2023 in the hometown of this spirit. Another mixer but we had a Mai Tai with it and that rocks. Fruity with some vegetal and herbal notes.

This is a very sweet rum. Almost like liquid sugar and I can only have one at a time. I have found that it goes very well with vanilla ice cream either as a sipper or poured over the ice cream. The nose is sweet and oaky with fruits and vanilla. The palate is very sweet and woody/toasted and heavy on vanilla. A bit of chocolate and cinnamon in the background. The finish is medium and sweet with oak and vanilla.

This is the "wife" of the one called "Havmanden" and a bit sweeter. The nose is thin but fruity with honey and some vanilla. The palate is also thin but warm and fruity with spice and honey. I get a hint og the Port cask it was finished on. The finish is medium long and fruity with spice and a bit of wood.

Just retasted this one today and it lost a few points. This rum won the silver medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition 2019 and it is a nice surprise. The rum originates from Jamaica and is the finished in Denmark adding herbs and spices. All in all a very good rum at the current price tag.
