"Beautiful single cask from cihuatan from El Salvador. Personally, a little too cognac-like, a little too woody and "vinous" and the alcohol could be better integrated. Overall, however, solid sfoff and probably the oldest single barrel from El Salvador to date! And in direct comparison to the predecessor definitely much better!"

"04.05.2024 Retasting during a nice exclusive tasting at Romdeluxe. I stick to my score and I still love it. -------------------------- This is a wonderful rum with a limited to 265 bottles. The destillery is listed as "secret" but the taste is definitely El Salvador. The proof has been so well integrated, that you don't really need to add water to this one. Fruity with spice and a nice hint of oak all the way from the nose to the finish. There is a hint of the bourbon cask as well. Price to quality is very good."

"It's not bad at all, with plenty of age and watts, but still not quite to my taste. There's a smokiness and peatiness that I don't like, as I'm usually looking for more acidity and sharpness. Tried it on the spot at Christian Montaguere in Paris and I recommend all rum lovers in the world to pay it a visit. Absolutely top-notch store in every respect."

"For me, the new discovery of the rumfestival 2020. Very exciting what comes out of this small country. Addendum 2024: For me, this is still the best rum coming from El Salvador. With really unique sounds and not so easy to copy. Unfortunately, the price for this bottle has risen into three figures."

"Edit: als Mixer ausprobiert und was soll ich sagen für 40€ im Sale ein NoBrainer! Hätte ich mal alle Flaschen aufgekauft Zufällig im Sale bei Whisky-maniac entdeckt und beschlossen, dass er etwas für einen Underdog Split sein könnte. Aus Salvador hatte ich noch nie etwas im Glas, deshalb fehlt der Vergleich. Fazit aber für mich ein guter Schnapper. Für 39,90€ kann man nicht meckern. Besser als gedacht."

"Ve vůni cítím především sladkost karamelu a dřevo, v chuti také , na to, že je to 17 let starý rum, čekal jsem větší integraci do chuti.. Popravdě myslím, že publikum si tento rum určitě najde..pokud vyzkoušíte nižší řady, bude to fajn.."

"Another Dualidad in my personal rum book. Aroma is quite alcoholic and not in the good way. I noticed almost like toothpaste scent with combination of medicinal and sugar scents. There is a hint of oak barrel. Taste was much better and gentle. There is flavour of honey (lot of honey), sugarcane, citrus, wood and little bit of spicy flavour. Taste itself is really really gentle, very nice for sipping. Finish is quite long and sharp with floral, medicinal and rubber flavour. I noticed little bit of spice. To be honest not a big fan of bourbon/whisky finnishing, I would put this Dualidad on the second place, but I have two more samples to try."

"Delicious specimen, with lots of caramel/honey and an ingenious roasted note of coffee and chocolate. Once you've identified the marzipan note, it runs right through! Also fruity in many ways (lychee/mango?), subtly sweet and very round. Goes down like oil 😋 For even more points, this rum would need more complexity, although I have to say that there are still some components that I can't quite put my finger on. You have to give this rum a few minutes to breathe. Compared to other Cihuatans, it stands out somewhat."

"Had this bottle on the shelf for a long time and someone wanted a sample so I opened it. Lots of herbs, slight bitterness. I like the apple notes and the slightly chocolaty finish. Update 5.5.24: Still a good drinkable rum, alcohol could be a bit better integrated at this strength. Recommended if you want to escape from the eternal Jamaica Guyana Trinidad pendulum to other flavor regions"

"Dieser Rum ist auch ganz in Ordnung. Eher etwas süßlich, schmeckt und riecht in Richtung Schokolade und Karamell. Für mich ist aber der Alkohol nicht richtig eingebunden, den hat man nach dem Genuß noch zu lange im Mund."
