"Magnificent!On the nose tar, barrel and lightly cherry and vanilla. In the mouth an explosion of perfectly balanced sensations. Still tar, barrel and followed by toastiness and chocolate with a mix of spices.Intense finish that lingers until the next day.In my small way, one of the best rums I have tasted. I assigned 94 because there are too many great rums that I have never tasted and may never taste."

Excellent."

The rum brings the 96 sweetness in perfection to the expression, in addition sounds rubber, fresh oak and vorallem a present spiciness from coffee, pepper and clove. Was for a long time a still well available Caroni representative from 1996, but has now "caught up" and is also increasing in price - but here it may at least be noted that the quality in the glass is absolutely convincing. An excellent representative of the m.E. anyway outstanding vintage 1996."

"RumX Advent Calendar, 18.12., blind.First impression: clearly Caroni! Dirty fruity, not too complicated, >60%. Good.Nose: as said, pleasantly dirty fruity, strong and complex. Sweet tar and burnt rubber. Red currant and a very slight hint of mint. Back polish and cold smoke.Palate: powerful and complex on the palate as well. Dry and woody and salty-bitter at the start. Then gum rub and polish, maybe some dried cherry and grapefruit. Very drinkable and beautiful Caroni representative."
