Un rhum dégusté au GRF en 2024, S.B.S. Masterclass. Un nez de Bubble gum qui n’est pas sans rappeler certains rhums de Savanna (ici aussi la fermentation est particulièrement longue), des fruits tropicaux et du boisé discret, le tout accompagné d’une douceur agréable. En bouche le bubble gum et les fruits tropicaux sont au coude à coude, soutenus par l’alcool. La finale est sur les fruits, le bois de cèdre et comme un rappel de Marsala (2 ans en fût de Marsala après 7 ans en ex-bourbon).

Good rum. Very good value for money. Slightly alcoholic on the palate but still quite balanced. Lots of caramel and tropical fruits. I recommend tasting although my favorite remains the sherry cask finish.

I am really glad I had an opportunity to try this rum. Aroma was little bit alcoholic (let it rest), than I noticed sweet note of vanilla, spice, wood and lot of fruit. I noticed a hint of coffe, nuts and that sherry/wine scent (very gentle). Taste was gentle with flavor of wine/sherry, sweet and wood. I noticed hints of nuts and nougat with lot of that fruity and dry flavor (loved it). Finish is short, fruity, woody and also very dry. Very nice rum, nothing special but for that price I think it is from that “MUST TRY” category.

Probablement le meilleur produit d'Antigua sur le marché. Je n'aurais pas pensé que ce fût spécial du mélange normal des 27 autres fûts apporterait autant de complexité, mais cette chose est vraiment une grenade. L'alcool est extrêmement bien intégré et encore un peu plus complexe que celui à 66%. C'est une bonne affaire ! Je ne sais pas s'il vaut le surcoût considérable par rapport à la très bonne mise en bouteille "normale"🤣.

Tasted on the Whisky and Rum festival 2022. IJmuiden. www.zeewijck.nl First impression: very Travellers Belize. Heavy. Bourbon. American oak. Vanilla/caramel. Taste: christmassy: Cinnamon(rolls). Cherry. Cloves. Charred. Vanilla. A lot of taste. The bourbon ever present. 55% is perfect. Good pick from Richard. Update may 2023. Strangely he still has loads of bottles of this.
