"This is a great rum and if you save the glass for the day after sampling it you'll get surprised at the nose. A complex rum with a nice balance between spices and fruit. I really liked the oaky finish. A rather high price tag compared to the quality, but rare bottles are not cheap. "

"#4820 17.08.2024 Tasting with Mads from Romhatten. This one was in the bar after the tasting finished and we had a burger 😊 Nose Intense, fresh, fruity, mint, spice, light wood, faint smoke, faint caramel, banana, varnish. Palate Oily, medium intense, balanced, complex, wood, light roasted, varnish, mint, light caramel, faint smoke, light tobacco, light orange. Finish Long and warm, wood, mint, fruits, banana, light caramel, faint tar. ABV is very well integrated."

"We had a nice Agricole evening yesterday and the lineup was really good. I'll start with the last one first. A grand Agricole from the top shelf. Really well balanced with light fruit and age shown in the elegant wood on the profile. Light caramel and licorice in the back of the profile. Not a cheap bottle but definitely a good one and I will go hunting for one if u can find it at a good price."

"Erster Eindruck: Oh yes!!!

"A great start to the tasting evening! Of course, this is unmistakably a Dominican, but an unusually strong one, without the alcohol being noticeable at all. A few drops of water make it even more accessible, with apricot and barrel notes in balance. Not my preferred style, but certainly drinkable and therefore recommended for special occasions - if you don't have to watch the pennies ... (bottle price now exorbitantly high)"

"#4837 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Light, fresh, sweet, fruits, light wood, spice, faint coffee, dried fruit, faint caramel. Palate Light, velvety, balanced, complex, dried fruit, faint coffee, light caramel, sweet, faint wood. Finish Medium long, complex, light wood, dried fruit, faint chocolate, spice, faint vegetal. This is a very easy drinkable and complex rum but it's also a very expensive one. If you have the chance to try it then give it a go, you won't regret it 😉"

"Viel Marzipan und Lack in der Nase. Am Gaumen unheimlich intensiv und komplex. Leicht säuerlich, würzig und fruchtig. Die 18 Jahre tropische Reifung bringen ein absolutes Top-Release hervor. Eines meiner Highlights auf der Whisky Live Paris 2023."

"#4652 10.03.2024 Relaxing at bit at home while my wife is out with a friend. Nose Wood, roasted, spice, fruity, plum, light citrus. Palate Wood, roasted, citrus, tannins, balanced, fruity, plum, spicy/warm. Finish Long and warm, wood, roasted, fruity, citrus. Draws nice slow moving curtains in the glass. The empty glass has some berries, dried fruit and olive notes to it."

"Second tasting: Uiuiui is the sharp on the palate, no wonder at almost 70%!But convinced me no longer so, since I know better Uitvlugt Rums(-2)Very interesting nose, similar to cherry liqueur and quite closed. On the palate very intense with a nice marzipan note, cocoa and barrel notes. The finish harmonizes with the impression on the palate and is not too bitter.Good intensity without being too bitter or woody. I like very much."

"Great Agricole! Nice spice, lots of wood influence and nice peach black tea and dark cocoa and burnt hay, as well as pear notes. Alcohol is a bit too present overall and could be better integrated after 15y, yet this is a very exciting & complex drop and extremely fun!"

"02-09.04.2022 This was crazy week, where some friends and I rented a nice summerhouse on Rømø. The plan was to go nuts for a whole week with different rums without going overboard. The final agreement came to 6 rums a day and then enjoy nice walks or ferry rides during the day. Day 5 Notes Medium to dark in colour. Nose Wood, roasted, faint chocolate, light caramel, plum, light cherry, faint medicinal. Palate Oily, wood, roasted, light tannins, plum, light cherry, light chocolate, spice, faint caramel. Finish Medium long, wood, faint smoke, light coffee, prunes, light cherry."

"Blind Tasting 01.02.2024, 4th rum Nose: Wow, this is a powerhouse that can barely walk on power! But it is so superficially brute that it almost comes across as cheap, the Rummelboxer type. But what does such a coarse type have to do with fine notes of sherry and glue? Obviously a lot here! Palate: Tiieef and dark, but I don't taste any malt or leather, so it's probably not an Enmore on steroids, but what then, a Foursquare? Toni, who is sitting next to me, guesses the Foursquare from Schotman's (RX13210). Yes, it clicks for me too, that must be it! Solution: Surprise! Not Schotman's, but even better: Tres Hombres - with an Oloroso finish! I really like it. 2nd place out of 8 blind-tasted rums that evening."

"Shortly after opening and pouring, the whole room smells of glue! This rum cannot be mistaken for Hampden! It is not easy to "smell past" the esters. Ripe pineapple and marzipan are definitely behind it. Slightly weaker vanilla, pastry and yoghurt also yellow fruits. On the palate, I find the rum much more balanced! The barrel and roasted aromas are added here, as well as a salty note and olives, which form a nice interplay with the fruity sweetness. I also really like the seamless transition to the almost endless finish. The salty note picks up speed here. An excellent, intense, "thoroughbred" Hampden. According to the BAT blog, Hampden produced the Mark OWH in 2013. However, this rum is definitely one of the <>H"

"25.09.2020 Tasting at a local wine shop that is no more, unfortunately. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Light, medium intense, wood, tannins, light smoke, spice, light coconut, citrus. "A really beautiful and incredibly intense LP VRW! Just the right amount of wood, combined with candied ginger and baked banana, light tannins and tart esters, plus a nice spiciness and overall just very elegant and complex. But it's still not worth >600€, there are plenty of other VRW vintages that cost a fraction and offer a similarly delicious aroma profile!"

"Very tasty! Great nose, in the first moment when you take a sip it has briefly a somehow unpleasant mouthfeel. However, this fades very quickly, then spreads a great flavor palette in the mouth! The rum develops from rather acidic ester notes to a sweetish pear with a slight eucalyptus note."

Meilleure critique de Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪 :
"A rum balanced in aromas, for my taste far too much. A fine rum, but the column distillation limits its potential. The nose reveals a light roastiness accompanied by dark chocolate, wood and spice. On the palate there is wood, spice, faint roasting/roasting and balsamic notes with a not too long lychee/grape finish. One senses the use of ex-cognac barrels that give it a refined profile close to agricole. A rum that needs attention, but personally not my style."

"Un rhum dégusté au WLP. Un nez étonnement vif vu les millésimes, du végétal mais aussi des fruits jaunes et des fruits tropicaux. La bouche donne des notes d’encaustique à la cire, de l’amande fraîche et de la feuille de figuier. Un côté salé commence une finale plutôt douce, longue et se terminant sur le bois. Je me sens en Sicile dans un verger en désordre et le verre vide raconte une histoire de vieux château."

Chairman‘s Reserve Master‘s Selection (LMDW Collection New Vibrations)
Meilleure critique de zabo :
"Franconian Tasting Gang on 19.04.2024 In today's Chairman's Comparison the New Vibrations compete against the 6th Rum&Co. The typical Chairman's profiles are clearly recognizable in both. My personal feeling, however, is that the New Vibrations is somewhat overpriced. There are considerably cheaper bottlings that are even better in taste."

"Profil très intéressant. On a bien les marqueurs de la Martinique, bien fruité avec un côté mûre. A cela s'ajoute l'effet alambic qui lui donne un côté rôti. Le boisé est plaisant mais plutôt sur le cerisier. Un rhum tout à fait à mon goût si ce n'est le tarif ridicule qui est demandé... Edit: le nez est chaleureux, gourmand et charmeur. La première bouche l'est également, la seconde bouche et la finale est beaucoup plus épicée."

"A rum that's sure to be the talk of the town. The nose opens with woody, spicy notes, toasted flavors, hazelnut and peanut butter, some fruit and floral notes. Chocolate and sugarcane are also perceptible. The palate is vegetal, spicy, slightly pastry-like and fruity. The whole is very (too) sweet and offers nothing exceptional in taste. The finish is equally disappointing, with a few woody, spicy, sweet and fruity notes. A huge red card for Neisson with this flat, traditional cuvée, whose quality in no way justifies the price."

"A rum tasted at the WLP and in Cologne. A warm nose with walnuts, Cementit, old hemp rope and, above all, rapeseed flowers. A fairly lively attack on the palate, with leather, glue and wood, followed by fruit, yellow fruit and apple. A long, elegant finish. A fine rum, all elegance except on the attack."

"Notes de dégustation du Whisky Live Paris 2024 - à affiner. Fruits, fleurs, épices, abricot, coco grillée. C'est très fin, meme si pour moi ca manque un peu de peps j'avoue. Un bon moment sur ce stand, ils vont faire de belles choses à l'avenir."

Meilleure critique de Jakob :
"Both on the nose and on the palate, a lot of this rum takes place in the rather extreme flavors - the rum challenges, jumps from bone-dry medicinal notes to tart-bitter wood influences, almost boasts with rich salt liquor, only to then flash a hint of caramel and vanilla in the next sip. For me, the rum becomes more interesting with each new attempt, because the flavor spectrum is so versatile and always reveals new facets. In itself not fully my preferred type of rum, but still very impressive. An inspiringly intense release."

"After the discovery of the live whisky, which had thrilled me, I took the time to taste it again this evening. I'm still very impressed. A great ITP, especially on the nose. I really love this nose. Superb balance between fruit, wood and a gourmand side. On the palate, the woodiness tends to be a little too present, through a little bitterness that quickly blurs the fruitier aromas of the beginning. Too bad, but it's still a great rum. Another very fine plantation release in the top-range Jamaican range, at a price that's not at all unreasonable today for 20 years of age."

Meilleure critique de Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓 :
"Very pleasantly surprised! I've actually never had an Angostura in a glass before, so it was the best idea to taste this rum blind first. When I smelled it, my first association was that it must be a kind of TiPunch, with a very present, inviting citrus note. On the palate, it was a pleasantly spicy rum, not necessarily fruity. It wasn't until I could taste a lot of mint towards the end that I was relatively certain that it must be a TDL, one of the later ones (2008-2010). All right, very close - or maybe not. 😉 But that doesn't detract from my assessment at all: what a great rum with only 44.7%! 😋"

"Overall a rum with fantastic aromas and with flavors almost at the same level. This rum, a 970 Single Cask from the Engenhos do Norte Distillery in Madeira is distilled in 2010 and aged for 11 years in an oak barrel before bottled at Brut de Fut in just 228 bottles."

"A Single Cask from Depaz that's more gourmet than agricultural. The nose is rich with dried fruit and candied orange, spicy wood, tobacco and chocolate notes. The attack on the palate is just as round and balanced. Fruit mingles with spices, walnuts and sweet caramel notes, rounding out the finish with delicate oak and a hint of sugarcane in the background. The finish lingers on tannic, woody, toasty and spicy notes that add extra character. A full-bodied, masterful Depaz that would have deserved a few more degrees to be truly perfect."

"Bought this Rhum Neisson Blanc from Catawiki a few months ago. The distillery is owned by the Neisson family since its foundation in 1932. They uses fresh sugar cane juice from locally grown cane. After a quite long fermentation it’s distilled in a French Savalle column still installed 1938. Overall a great Agricole Blanc that’s very good neat, but a little weak in a Ti Punch."
